FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRESS RELEASE

ECTEL Launches Pearl Allison Lake (P.A.L.) Scholarship Fund

in Honour of Beloved Staff Member

Castries - Saint Lucia – 26th September 2025 – The Eastern Caribbean Telecommunications Authority (ECTEL) is honoured to announce the establishment of the Pearl Allison Lake (P.A.L.) Scholarship Fund, created in memory of a cherished and long-standing employee, Ms. Pearl Lake, who passed away in June 2024.

Ms. Lake who was employed at the Directorate for 20 years before her passing, was deeply passionate about children and strongly believed in the transformative power of education. In tribute to her legacy, ECTEL has launched the P.A.L. Scholarship Fund to support students who have made the critical transition from primary to secondary school.

“The P.A.L. Scholarship Fund is a testament to Ms. Lake’s enduring legacy and her commitment to education,” said Mr. David A. Cox, ECTEL’s Managing Director. “Through this initiative, ECTEL is not only celebrating her life but also ensuring that her passion continues to impact the lives of young people across our Contracting States.”

The P.A.L. Scholarship Fund will provide financial assistance to five (5) students, one from each of ECTEL’s Contracting States — the Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. In the first year, each recipient will receive EC$1,500 to assist with back-to-school supplies for the academic year. The scholarship is expected to continue for the duration of the recipients’ secondary school education once they maintain a minimum grade of 70% and continue to be of good character.

Through the P.A.L. Scholarship Fund, ECTEL aims to empower young learners with the resources needed to embark confidently on their secondary education journey, ensuring that Ms. Lake’s legacy of compassion, service, and love for children lives on.

Interested students are encouraged to complete and submit their application form (see link below) by 8 a.m. on 16th October 2025. They must also direct their referee to ECTEL’s website or this press release by the deadline to complete the referee form. Links to apply and view promotional video:
