The ECCAA will be hosting the 17th Meeting of the Regional Aviation Safety Oversight System (RASOS) Board of Directors from 5th to 7th May 2008 in Antigua/Barbuda. The Meeting will bring together Directors and/or Directors General of Civil Aviation for the CARICOM States of Trinidad and Tobago, OECS, Barbados, Suriname, Guyana, Haiti and the UK OT (Montserrat, BVI and Anguilla). The USFAA and ASSI will also be represented at this meeting.

Slated for discussion is an update on the establishment of the Caribbean Aviation Safety and Security Oversight System (CASSOS) as an institution of CARICOM and the successor agency to the RASOS. The Meeting is also expected to discuss the implementation of a standardised credit card size Pilot and Engineers licence within the CARICOM region and the computerised examination system.

RASOS was established to facilitate the pooling and sharing of scarce resources within the CARICOM region with a view to assisting participating States in meeting their international obligations under the Chicago Convention.
