The Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority in collaboration with the International Air Transportation Association (IATA) will be hosting a Safety Management Systems (SMS) seminar on June 10-12, 2008. The seminar which is designed for representatives for civil aviation authorities, airline managers, airport managers, ANS providers, manufacturers and maintenance. The seminar will addressing areas include:

  • Basic safety concepts
  • Safety management
  • Hazards
  • Risks
  • SMS regulations
  • SMA planning
  • SMA operations
  • Phased approach to SMS implementation

The aim of this programme is to give participants the knowledge, techniques and skills to effectively develop and manage a safety management system. Also, at the end of this seminar, participants will also be able to measure the performance of a safety management system, while managing safety risks and building a safety culture with their organization.
